• 1816-41 A.D, He was not the legitimate son of Raja Bikram Singh.
• He was installed as Raja with the help/sought of Raja of Mandi

• Lost:: In 1816-17, he gave asylum to ex-amir of Kabul “Shahshuja” when Raja Ranjit Singh Sent force to arrest him, but Raja Ajit Singh allowed him to escape for which Ranjit Singh imposed a fine or tribute of Rs. 80,000 on Raja, 1839, the Sikh army under “Sindhanwala Sardars” captured Ajit Singh and forced him to surrender the state but when the Sikh army was returning back by outer Saraj and Basloh pass where Kullu people ambushed - Killed 1000 sikhs and free Raja Ajit Singh who took shelter in his old territory Shangri where he died in 1841
